About us
Building a brighter future for you, one step at a time.
My name is Payal Sud, and I am a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion, authenticity, and hope. While my professional training has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support others, one of the most transformative experiences in my life came outside of the therapy room.
In 2025, I received a diagnosis that would change the course of my life: stage four colon cancer. Like many people facing a life-altering diagnosis, I experienced a wide range of emotions including fear, uncertainty, grief, anger, and moments of profound vulnerability. What began as random illness symptoms (stomach aches, vomiting, etc) quickly became a journey filled with medical appointments, treatment decisions, and countless unknowns.
During this time, I underwent chemotherapy, surgery, TPN, blood transfusion and shots. There were days when I felt strong and hopeful, and there were days when simply getting out of bed felt like an accomplishment. Cancer challenged me physically, emotionally, and spiritually in ways I never could have anticipated.
As a therapist, I was familiar with concepts such as resilience, coping skills, self-compassion, and emotional processing. However, living through cancer gave me a deeper understanding of what it truly means to face uncertainty, loss, and fear while continuing to move forward one day at a time. I learned that healing is not always linear and that strength often looks different than we expect.
Throughout my journey, I found support in friends, family, pets, and TV. As funny as it is, TV encouraged me to eat. I watch rural cooking shows via YouTube. These relationships reminded me that healing does not happen in isolation and that connection can be one of the most powerful tools for recovery.
Today, I am grateful to share that I am cancer-free. Reaching this milestone has given me a renewed appreciation for life, relationships, and the importance of mental and emotional well-being. While cancer will always be a part of my story, it does not define who I am. Instead, it has strengthened my commitment to helping others navigate their own challenges with courage and self-compassion.
My experience has deepened my empathy for individuals facing medical diagnoses, chronic illness, grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and other difficult circumstances. I understand firsthand how overwhelming life can feel when everything changes unexpectedly. Because of this, I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered.
Whether you are navigating a health challenge, coping with loss, managing stress, or simply seeking personal growth, I am honored to walk alongside you on your journey.
Healing is possible. Hope is real. And you do not have to face life’s challenges alone.
I look forward to connecting with you.
